We know there is no shortage of live bench test courses you could choose from. With us though, you’re not just getting a course – you’re stepping into a complete, high-touch system.
Our small class sizes mean your questions get answered, your work gets reviewed, and your growth doesn’t get lost in the crowd.
Meet with me (Dr. Alyssa) for a consulting session before the live course starts. I want to get to know you, your background, and what you want/need to learn during our time together. Based on this we can create a custom curriculum so the time we spend together is laser-focused on accelerating your readiness.
Start learning and improving immediately, no need to wait until we meet face-to-face. Before you even step into the live course, you’ll have access to a complete online curriculum in Bench Test Mastery. Pre-recorded lessons guide you step-by-step, and when you upload photos of your work, you get personalized video feedback directly from me. In those feedback videos, I don’t just focus on what went wrong, that part is easy to assess. The challenge is understanding why it happened so you know what to do differently going forward.
Most candidates overlook interview prep, but it matters. You’ll get the online Interview Mastery course so you can prepare yourself for the mock interviews ahead of time.
Kevin’s insight from his experience interviewing in Universities can be the difference between an offer and a “maybe.”
Being guided by someone who’s been both in your shoes and on the other side of the table is an undeniable edge.
It’s about meeting you where you are with your skills, and working together in a targeted way to get you bench test and interview ready.
And imagine this: walking into that test with clarity and confidence. Feeling the relief of knowing every prep, every restoration, every decision has been sharpened for the outcome that matters most. The doubt fades. The fear recedes. All that’s left is readiness—and the excitement of finally stepping into the career you’ve been working toward.
You’ve worked tirelessly to get this far, and now you have an interview in hand. You’re staring at the bench test practice setup, feeling the weight of every hour of practice, wondering: Will it be enough?
You’ve tried before and faced rejection, and you’re determined not to waste another year.
You’ve never done a crown prep—or it’s been a while—and you want to know exactly how to make your work pass the bench test.
You feel the pressure of every small mistake being magnified in a highly competitive process, and want to gain an edge.
You’re practicing on your own and are frustrated with your results as you repeat the same mistakes again and again while producing an occasional prep that’s better. You want to predictably produce high quality pass-worthy preps.
From someone who cares and has been in your shoes (Dr. Alyssa) and on the other side of the table (Kevin) who can show you the steps, the strategies, and the subtleties that programs notice.
You sit for the bench test, instruments in hand, heart hammering like it’s trying to escape your chest. A crown prep in front of you, and your mind is spinning: Did I ruin the occlusal anatomy? How can I fix this, or do I just leave it alone? And I nicked the adjacent tooth! You wince, heart sinking. Margins aren’t smooth. Taper isn’t right. Time is bleeding away, and with it, your confidence. Why can’t I get this right?
It’s more than just the technical mistakes—it’s the history behind them. The time it took for you to study for the INBDE, assisting and volunteering, applications you poured money and months into. The rejections that came with no feedback, leaving you wondering if you’ll ever be good enough. The cost just to participate in the interview was high. Every exam, every CAAPID step, every material purchase—all steep costs, tangible and invisible.
You know what programs are looking for: precision, confidence, control. But right now, you’re scrambling to hit an invisible standard. You feel exposed, like everyone’s watching, judging, silently asking if you belong here.
I’ve been there, that’s how I felt during my first bench test which I failed miserably.
It’s exhausting, frustrating, and lonely. You’re ready to step out of the assistant’s chair and into your own operatory—but first, you need a way to transform panic into precision, mistakes into mastery, and anxiety into the quiet confidence that programs can’t help but notice.
You’ve eliminated bench test anxiety and perform with calm focus. With handpiece in hand, you achieve smooth margins, ideal tapers, and accurate occlusal anatomy through deliberate, controlled movements. You’ve developed the precision and purposeful technique that programs seek.
You move beyond rote memorization to a deep understanding of why techniques work. You confidently handle unexpected challenges and correct mistakes with ease. You’re experiencing true mastery, not just skill, but the control that comes with understanding.
You present your story, application, and strengths with clarity and confidence. You anticipate challenging questions and deliver authentic, well-crafted responses. You’ve gained the strategic advantage that sets you apart.
You transform from a hopeful applicant to a confident candidate. You trade self-doubt for the assurance that comes from dedicated, targeted preparation. You’re stepping into the next phase of your career knowing you belong and are ready to succeed.

Send in your preps and receive clear, actionable feedback
Never left guessing whether you’re “good enough” before the real test.
You just need one program to say yes.
Give yourself every advantage with airtight preparation and guidance from mentors who’ve been where you are and helped hundreds of applicants before you.
I didn’t start out with “good hands.” In fact, my preps used to be rough, uneven, and frustrating. I know the sinking feeling of watching the margins crumble or nicking the adjacent tooth, not lightly, but really nicking it, and the panic that sets in when the clock is running. And I turned it around.
I went from shaky, uncertain work to consistent, reliable results — not because it came naturally, but because I figured out how better my hand skills.
That journey is why I teach differently. I understand exactly where candidates get stuck, and I’ve developed clear, practical methods to get you unstuck.
Over the years, I’ve:
Seen students who once thought they “weren’t good with their hands” go on to deliver bench test performances that lead to acceptances.

If you can make it work, I strongly recommend the 10-day course. Here’s why: years ago, when we ran live programs, they were only 5 days long. Students did make meaningful progress, but I often felt there wasn’t enough time to cover everything they wanted—or for me to feel fully confident about their ability to pass.
The extra time makes a huge difference. With 10 days, you’ll not only learn and practice at a deeper level, but you’ll also have more opportunities for feedback, repetition, and refinement. Most importantly, you’ll leave feeling much more secure in your skills and prepared for the bench test.
I completely understand this is a significant investment of both time and money. But in my experience, you won’t regret staying longer.
Our live training takes place in Payson, Arizona, a small mountain town you may not have heard of, but one that makes for an incredible setting to focus, learn, and recharge.
It’s just 1.5 hours from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport but is nothing like Phoenix, sitting at 5,000ft elevation, surrounded by tall pines and cool mountain air. It’s where people who live in Phoenix come to visit to get out of the heat and hustle and bustle.
If you’re not planning to rent a car, we’ll help you arrange transportation to and from the airport as well as within Payson. Everything is designed to make your experience as smooth as possible so you can focus fully on preparing for your exam.
If you bring your spouse or a family member along, they’ll find plenty to enjoy while you’re in training: scenic hikes, lakes and waterfalls nearby, cozy cafés with good wifi, and the charm of a mountain town that feels like a refreshing break from big-city stress.
In short: Payson offers the best of both worlds—focus and calm for you, and a mini getaway for anyone who comes with you.
Payson, AZ is about 1 hour, 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. You have two options:
During the live course itself, if you don’t have a car, we’ll happily drive you back to your accommodation each day at no cost. That way, you can relax and focus fully on your training without worrying about logistics.
Absolutely. Payson is a quiet, family-friendly mountain town—and it’s the place I chose to raise my own family. With two little kids, safety was one of the most important factors for us when deciding where to live. You can feel at ease here and focus completely on your training.
Payson is also a popular vacation spot for visitors from Phoenix, who wish to get out of the extreme desert heat, so rest assured that people here are very friendly towards outside visitors.
Yes, Payson is in Arizona, so it can get warm. That said, Payson is not in the desert like Phoenix. It’s a high elevation (5,000 ft) mountain town that has temperate weather. During the course, it should stay within the mid-80s to the low 90s at the hottest.
We provide breakfast and lunch each day so you can stay focused on your preparation without worrying about meals. The kitchen will also be stocked with snacks and drinks. Dinner is on your own, but we’re happy to provide local recommendations.
Lodging isn’t included, but we can recommend nearby accommodations and help coordinate your stay. If enough candidates are interested, we can even help arrange shared Airbnbs. A shared Airbnb would have a kitchen as well where you could prepare dinner if you wish.
You can cancel up to 3 weeks before the course for a full refund. If you’ve already completed your private coaching session with me, the session fee will be deducted from your refund.
If less than 3 weeks remain before the course, no refunds will be given. However, you can transfer your spot to another candidate if needed.
You can reschedule your course up to 2 weeks before the course.
Mock interview times are built into your custom curriculum. You’ll meet one-on-one with Kevin, who will conduct the interview as if it’s the real thing. Afterward, he’ll review each question with you, providing detailed feedback on your answers and delivery. The session will also be recorded so you can revisit it and continue refining your approach.
Absolutely. Many candidates come to us after previous rejections, unsure why their work didn’t meet program expectations. This course is designed to give you clarity, hands-on guidance, and strategies tailored to your strengths and weaknesses. By the end, you’ll not only improve your technical skills but also regain confidence, develop a clear plan, and leave feeling fully prepared to sit at the bench and show programs what you’re capable of.
Yes—actually, that’s one of the best ways to spend the limited time you have to prepare for the bench test and interview. The live course is designed to sharpen both your bench test and interview skills in a concentrated way, so everything you learn will be fresh in your mind. You’ll be practicing under real exam-like conditions with direct feedback, which builds the confidence and clarity you need to perform at your best. Many of our past candidates scheduled their course just before interviews.
Yes, absolutely. In fact, preparing before you get an interview is what I recommend. Bench test skills take time to build, and many candidates make the mistake of waiting until the last minute. By joining now, you’ll be ahead of the curve—you’ll have more time to refine your hand skills and practice with feedback. That way, when an interview invitation does come, you’ll already be ready to perform with confidence regardless of what things you need to perform at the bench test.
Absolutely. Many candidates come in feeling nervous, shaky, or frustrated from past attempts. Our approach is designed to help you build predictable, repeatable bench skills, improve hand stability, and understand exactly what makes a prep “good enough.” Kevin’s teaching methods have helped countless candidates go from struggling to confident, and he knows firsthand what it’s like to transform shaky hands into precise, reliable performance. You’ll leave with not just improved technique, but the confidence to show up and perform under pressure.
I’ll be there every day from 9-5 except for an hour-long lunch break working with the class.
If you already have a typodont, please bring it with you. If not, don’t worry—you’re welcome to use one of ours at no extra charge. The only thing you’ll need to bring or purchase are the teeth to work on during the course. We’ll have them available on-site at the exact same price you’d pay from the supplier. An initial set of burs will be provided for you, and if you need additional burs during the course, they’ll be available for purchase as well.
The live course runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day, including weekends, with a one-hour lunch break.
Absolutely! The live course space is available for you to practice beyond scheduled sessions if you wish. Whether you want extra time to refine your preps, review techniques, or just get more hands-on practice, you’re welcome to stay and work at your own pace.
Each live course is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 8 participants per day. This ensures you get personalized attention, meaningful feedback, and guidance that truly sticks.
You don’t have to attend every live demo—but you’ll want to. Demos will be given throughout the day and shown on a TV screen visible from your work station in real time, giving you the chance to watch techniques in action and pick up tips you might not get from your own practice. You can focus on your weak areas if you like, but many candidates find that even just observing the demos sparks new ideas and helps them improve faster.
Yes! If the course you want is full, you can join our waitlist. We’ll notify you immediately if a spot opens up or if we add additional dates, so you won’t miss the chance to join.
No program can guarantee acceptance. What we can guarantee is that after working with us, your probability of being accepted is significantly higher. You’ll leave the course with clearer skills, stronger preparation, and feedback from experts who have seen what programs are really looking for—giving you an undeniable edge over other candidates.
I’d be happy to hop on a call and answer any questions you have about the course, so you can feel confident about whether it’s the right fit for you. I know this is both a big investment and an important decision at a critical stage in your journey, and I want you to have the clarity you need.
